On Sunday, a disturbing incident occurred in Tharaka-Nithi county where a man allegedly assaulted his wife and sealed her private parts with superglue, accusing her of infidelity.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect, James Kifo Muriuki, was arrested in his hideout at Kaningo in Kitui County, where he was seeking help from a witch doctor.
The witch doctor, James Murogi Maingi, has also been arrested for his alleged involvement in the heinous act.
As reported by the DCI, the suspect beat his wife, sprayed pepper, salt, and super glue on her genitalia, and then used a knife to push the contents into her private parts. He also sealed her mouth and ears, leaving her for dead.
The victim reported that her husband arrived home and demanded to know how many men she had slept with while he was away. He then ordered her out of the house and took her to a nearby river, where he threatened to kill her if she didn't strip naked.
The suspect is now expected to be charged in court once necessary police procedure is complete.
