On March 10, 2020, StarTimes Media announced the upgrade of their bouquet offering, introducing eight new premium channels across various genres to provide Kenyan subscribers with an enriched content experience at the same affordable monthly subscription.
The new channels include Sky News, CBeebies, Film Box, Gametoon, Timeless Drama Channel (TDC), Tlnovelas, FashionBox HD, and Toonami, which will enrich the existing content genres available to the broadcaster's terrestrial and satellite television.
According to StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Mr. Aldrine Nsubuga, the brand is keen on refining the kind of programming available to subscribers, especially with the new technologies creating new content every other day.
"We are progressively improving the content available to our subscribers, key in growing our value proposition, and also as a way of appreciating their loyalty to the brand," said Mr. Nsubuga. "Notably, the monthly subscription rates remain the same. We endeavour to maintain our commitment of delivering premium content at the most affordable subscription rates."
The new channels will cater to diverse interests, including news, kids, movies, fashion, novelas, gaming, and esports. Sky News will deliver 24-hour latest global developments, while Tlnovelas will broadcast highly-rated Mexican novelas. Timeless Drama Channel (TDC) will deliver critically-acclaimed Turkish shows, and FilmBox will offer more than 300 premiere titles every year.
FashionBox HD will be the one-stop-shop for all things style, featuring inspirational, educational, and highly entertaining content on shopping, lifestyle, and new fashion trends. Gametoon will feature highlights of popular video games, entertainment content from gaming, YouTubers, and video game tournaments, while Toonami will primarily air Japanese animations and occasional American action animations.
CBeebies will be integral in helping pre-school kids learn while they play fun games, watch relevant clips, and sing along to related songs.
