Jim Sterling, a 66-year-old from Manson, Washington, recently retired from his job as the manager of a hardwood floor company. His wife Joanne, who has been at home with him a lot more, thought it was about time he helped out a bit more.
She asked him to 'pull his weight' around the house, starting with making the bed in the morning. This was the first time Jim had attempted to make the bed in around 45 years.
As Joanne later shared on social media, Jim's first attempt was a disaster. Instead of placing the cushions and pillows neatly on the bed, he stacked all of them in a pile up against the headboard.
Joanne was left in hysterics when she saw the mess, but instead of being embarrassed, Jim decided to make the bed in even more elaborate ways to get more likes online.
He began creating bigger displays on the bed each morning, adding all sorts of items, including an inflatable flamingo. Joanne said, "His designs are funny, but honestly, I'm just so happy he is making the bed every morning."
Joanne's social media posts quickly garnered around 20,000 likes, comments, and shares, with many people loving Jim's bed making fails. The posts were re-shared by their daughter, Jessy.
