Today, May 21st, 2020, marks the day Tecra Muigai would have been celebrating her 30th birthday. Her sister Arnelisa is keeping her memories alive on social media.
Arnelisa posted: 'Happy “30th” birthday Angel Tecra. God must have be very happy to have you in heaven. We miss you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️.'
Tecra died on May 2, 2020, after sustaining head injuries on April 27, 2020, in a rented cottage in Shella area, Lamu Island. She was rushed to Shella Dispensary and later to King Fahad Hospital in Lamu, where she lost a lot of blood.
After 11 hours of unsuccessful treatment, Tecra's boyfriend Omar Lali contacted her mother, who chartered an Amref helicopter to fly her to a Nairobi hospital, where she died. Lali was arrested on May 3, 2020.
According to an autopsy conducted by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor, Tecra succumbed to injuries sustained on the left side of her head. She was buried in a private ceremony at her home in Naivasha last weekend.
