On May 21, 2020, Homa Bay Town East Member of County Assembly (MCA) Juma Awuor raised concerns about the Covid-19 emergency Committee's distribution of humanitarian support in Homa Bay County.
Mr. Awuor, who had contributed 100,000 shillings to the Committee, accused it of bias in the distribution of relief to vulnerable families in his ward and the entire Homa-Bay town constituency.
Speaking at Majiwa primary school, Mr. Awuor called on Governor Cyprian Awiti to intervene and ensure the Committee, chaired by Eng. Ken Onditi, distributes support equitably to families affected by the pandemic.
