On May 19, 2020, three journalists from Citizen TV were taken into custody in Nakuru after being accused of trying to bribe John, the then-chairman of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).
The incident was captured on video and has since been widely shared online.
A video shows the journalists being questioned by police and attempting to explain their actions.
