On May 20, 2020, Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli called for talks between regional leaders to resolve border disputes with Kenya.
Magufuli made the appeal in a video message, urging the leaders to engage in dialogue with their Kenyan counterparts to find solutions to the long-standing issues.
He emphasized that Kenya and Tanzania are friends and that the COVID-19 pandemic should not be used as a pretext for conflict.
