David Wachira, a Public Finance and Governance Specialist at the World Bank Group, has captured the hearts of many with his love story. The Akorino, who co-founded the Youth Engagement Society (YES), is set to marry his fiancée Cecilie, a woman from a different cultural background.
The couple, who have been sharing photos from their romantic getaways, have been open about their love for each other. In a heartwarming post, Cecilie promised to respect, admire, and appreciate David for who he is, as well as for the person he wishes to become.
‘We come to love by not finding the perfect person but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly,’ David once posted, reflecting on the beauty of love.
However, their wedding plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a post on Instagram, Cecilie confirmed that their wedding, initially set for April 3, had been postponed to later this year.
Despite the challenges, the couple remains committed to each other. Cecilie promised to be there for David whenever he needs her, to nurture his goals and ambitions, and to celebrate his triumphs.
