On May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in a highly anticipated wedding at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. The couple's special day was not just a celebration of their love, but also a carefully planned event with strict rules for their guests.

Each guest received a seven-page instructions book outlining the dos and don'ts of the wedding. The rules were designed to ensure the couple's private evening celebration remained, well, private.

Guests were asked to surrender their mobile phones and any devices used for image capture upon arrival at the evening reception. Bulky bags were also banned, and presents were not allowed to be taken into either the St George's Chapel ceremony or the Windsor Castle reception.

A dress code was also sent to guests, asking men to wear a dress uniform, morning coat, or lounge suit, while women were asked to wear a day dress and a hat. The guidance pack also included a list of prohibited items, including swords, which may have been part of some guests' dress uniforms.

The couple also asked guests not to wear medals on the big day. Furthermore, guests were not allowed to bring presents into the grounds, as Meghan and Harry had requested that people donate to one of their seven chosen charities instead.

Despite the strict rules, the couple's wedding was a joyous celebration, with 2,640 members of the public joining them in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The event was a memorable occasion, with many famous faces in attendance.
