On May 20, 2020, Kenya's government announced an extension of movement restrictions in Eastleigh and Old Town until June 6, 2020, to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
According to the government, eateries and hawking are prohibited until June 6, 2020, as part of the measures to curb the spread of the virus.
Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe, stated, 'In order to contain further spread of the virus, Eateries & hawking prohibited until 6th June 2020.'
The restrictions were initially set to expire on May 27, 2020, but the government decided to extend them to prevent further spread of the virus.
The government's decision aims to protect the public and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the affected areas.
