Published on May 20, 2020, Nairobi News reported that former Gor Mahia midfielder Rama Salim was eager to make a comeback in professional football.
Salim, who had been based in Dubai, revealed that he had taken a sabbatical to recover from a career-threatening knee injury sustained during his stint at Slovakian side MFK Topolcany.
"I tore ligaments in my left knee and had to take a break from football to heal," Salim explained. "I am now okay and looking forward to a return into action after the Covid-19 situation cools down," he added.
As a free agent, Salim expressed his openness to offers from any team, whether in Kenya, the UAE, or Europe, and emphasized his desire to get back to football.
Salim also reminisced about his time at Gor Mahia, praising the team's fan base and the intimidating atmosphere at City Stadium, which he referred to as the team's fortress.
He urged football leaders in Kenya to be accountable and transparent, citing this as essential to regaining the trust of fans and other key partners.
