On March 16, 2003, a tragic car accident near Elementaita claimed the life of legendary singer E-Sir, leaving behind a family and fans in shock. The accident occurred while E-Sir was returning from a show in Nakuru.
According to E-Sir's brother, Habib Amin, he was just 18 years old when he saw his brother's lifeless body for the first time. Habib shared his heart-wrenching experience with KTN News' Duncan Khaemba on the Untold story.
'That was the first time I ever saw a dead body,' Habib said. 'It was the first time and the worst time is that it was my brother's and It was scary. When you see somebody you love in a certain state that you've never seen before, its traumatizing. You can never forget.'
At the time of his death, E-Sir was just 21 years old. Habib remembered his brother as a protector and the breadwinner of their family. 'He past on when I was about to turn 18,' Habib said. 'He was my elder brother and I knew him as my protector, he was always there for me. He took care of our family, he was the bread winner. I remember him as the person I would go to when I had a problem.'
When not making music, E-Sir was a spiritual person who often read the Bible. Habib recalled, 'He was spiritual. He used to read the Bible a lot.'
