Racial Disparities in COVID-19 Mortality Rates

Published on May 20, 2020

Black Americans are disproportionately affected by the novel coronavirus, with mortality rates significantly higher than those of white Americans. This alarming trend is a result of longstanding inequality, which has been exacerbated by the pandemic.

According to data, black Americans are more vulnerable to the pandemic due to various factors, including limited access to healthcare, socioeconomic disparities, and systemic racism. These underlying issues have been further exacerbated by the pandemic, leading to devastating consequences for the black community.
