On May 20, 2020, a two-month-old baby girl was rescued by the Narok children department after being found abandoned along the Olokirikirai River in Narok North subcounty.

According to Pilot Khaemba, the subcounty children officer, the baby was spotted by two girls who had gone to the river to bathe after hearing a baby crying from the nearby bush.

The two girls, who showed great kindness, carried the baby to their mother Margaret Kwamboka, who nursed her overnight and presented her to the children department the following day.

The baby was taken to Enabelbel Health Centre for a medical examination, where she was confirmed to be about two months old and in good health.

However, due to COVID-19 protocols, the baby's transfer to Nest Children Home in Nairobi was delayed until a COVID-19 clearance certificate was obtained, as ordered by Narok Chief Magistrate Wilbroda Juma.
