Gor Mahia fans have taken a significant step towards renovating the team bus by collecting Sh187,113 out of the required Sh250,000. The money was raised through the efforts of the Gor Mahia FC branches under the umbrella of GMFC COC.

According to a post on the Gor Mahia FC Facebook page, dated Sunday, 17th, the mechanic agreed to do the repair at a cost of Sh250,000. The post also urged all GMFC branches to send their contributions as quickly as possible to raise the remaining Sh62,887.

However, the decision has not gone well with a section of fans, who claim that the money should have been used to pay players who have gone for months without salaries. One fan, Bingi Man, wrote, “I can only be proud of you guys mkisema players wamelipwa hiyo bus haijawai cheza game hata moja. Players wanaumia hawalipwi mnakuja na kiherehere ya bus,” while Tom Okoth simply stated, “Misplaced priority.”

On the other hand, some fans supported the idea, suggesting that they are also open to mobilizing resources to buy the team a new bus. George Vallens wrote, “How I wish we could gift the team with a Scania after winning this trophy again this year. Let’s try comrades. Together we can,” while George Guya added, “Good job next try to give a quotation for new bus.”
