On May 18, 2020, blogger Edgar Obare published several screenshots allegedly from a WhatsApp group with popular radio presenter Jalang'o as one of its members.
The screenshots, which sparked controversy, allegedly showed Jalang'o and his close friends sharing images of various women and ranking themselves based on their romantic conquests.
Since the expose, Obare has received several phone calls and messages threatening his life, with Jalang'o dismissing the claims as mere malice.
Obare, who sources his information from his numerous followers, had previously published a story alleging that Jalang'o, a married man, was engaged in affairs with a string of women.
“Since I exposed the Boy’s Club, I have received several phone calls and messages threatening my life. I do not actually know where they are coming from but I’m sure this has started after my expose,” Obare said.
Obare has now gone into hiding and is seeking help and security from Kenyans, with Jalang'o maintaining that he is focused on his work and family.
