On March 5th, 2020, a complex web of deceit was set in motion in Nairobi, which would ultimately lead to the downfall of three directors of Chatter Africa Limited.

Chrispinus Simiyu Barasa, Victor Kasembeli Barasa, and Andrew Wakoli Barasa were accused of conspiring with another individual to defraud Kelvin Kuteli Wambulwa of Sh 2.3 million by falsely pretending that their company had won a tender to supply borehole bearings to Mesut Logistic company.

According to the charges, the three directors falsely claimed that their company had won the tender, and as a result, they obtained Sh 2.3 million from Wambulwa by false pretenses.

The accused were alleged to have committed the offense between March 5th and April 1st, 2020, in Nairobi.

On May 19th, 2020, the three directors appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot and denied the charges. They were released on a cash bail of Sh 200,000.
