On a fateful evening in Dar Es Salaam, Jacqueline Wolper, a Tanzanian businesswoman and social media influencer, fell victim to a brazen theft at her Kitenge shop.
According to Wolper, the thief, a woman dressed in a buibui and mask, visited the shop around 8:00 PM and tried on some clothes.
Wolper had placed Tsh 1 million in her handbag, which had an open zip, and the customer claimed she needed to withdraw money, prompting her to quickly leave and hail a bodaboda.
However, an hour later, Wolper discovered that her money was missing, and after inquiring, she identified the thief.
Despite re-reporting the case, Wolper's parents intervened, urging her to forgive the thief.
Wolper revealed that she would have preferred the thief to face the law, but she chose to forgive due to her parents' influence.
Her statement also included a warning to the thief, saying, 'She will be cursed especially now that she has stolen in this month of prayer. That is like asking for a curse.'
