DP Ruto's chances of being the Jubilee Party's flag bearer in the 2022 general elections are under threat, according to sources close to the party.
The plan, allegedly orchestrated by President Uhuru Kenyatta, aims to keep Ruto out of the ruling party and form a broader coalition that he will not have any say or influence in.
At the heart of the plan is a post-poll merger between Jubilee and KANU, which is seen as the first step towards isolating Ruto within the party.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Gideon Moi, and Kalonzo Musyoka are reportedly working together to create a coalition that will give Ruto no room to maneuver.
"We are aware that all these machinations are aimed at making sure that Ruto doesn't run on Jubilee Party. They want to enter into coalitions so that they can give a ticket to another person to run for presidency," Jubilee Deputy SG Caleb Kositany revealed.
