UEFA has been working to finalize the venues for the rearranged UEFA Euro 2020, which was pushed back by a year to June and July 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Initially scheduled for May 27, the meeting has been rescheduled for June 17, citing 'some remaining open points regarding a small number of proposed venues.'
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has stated that the organization is hopeful of wrapping up the current club season in August, thereby limiting the delay to the start of next season.
As part of this plan, UEFA is considering a scenario where domestic leagues are played out before the Champions League and Europa League are completed in August.
According to Ceferin, 'we have a concrete plan of finishing the European season,' but the exact dates will need to be confirmed by the Executive Committee.
On May 18, 2020, UEFA announced that it would be postponing the meeting, with the new date set for June 17.
