Laikipia Police Officer's Body Found 10 Days After Drowning

On May 6, 2020, a police officer, Mr Hesbon Kebiro Ochwangí, attached to Lowangiro Camel Farm, tragically drowned in River Pesi, Laikipia West, Laikipia County.

According to a police report, the officer's body was found interlocked on tree logs lying across the river, approximately 17km away from the suspected point of drowning.

"The body was today discovered interlocked on tree logs that are lying across river Pesi..." a police report stated.

On May 18, 2020, the body was partially decomposed and only dressed in a red t-shirt, which was the last clothing item the deceased was seen wearing.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations visited the scene to determine whether the deceased was thrown into the river or accidentally fell.

The body has been taken to Umash Funeral Home for autopsy, and an inquest into the death has been opened.
