5 Tanzanians Arrested for Sneaking into Uganda

Published on May 18, 2020, a Ugandan police crackdown on illegal entry has led to the arrest of five Tanzanian nationals.

According to Regional Police Commander for Greater Masaka Enock Abaine, the five suspects entered Uganda through Rakai and are being held at an isolation centre.

They will face charges of illegal entry and violating lockdown directives, as per Ugandan law.

Uganda has reported 248 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 63 recoveries.
