On May 17, 2020, a disturbing incident of sexual assault occurred in Tharaka Nithi County, leaving a woman in a serious condition.

According to a police report filed at the Marimati Police station, the victim was assaulted by her husband at 10pm.

As reported, the husband had returned from Nairobi and ordered the victim to leave their home, citing the lockdown restrictions.

They both went to River Kathita, where the husband demanded that the victim remove her clothes, claiming he wanted to know about her past relationships.

However, the situation took a dark turn when the husband started beating the victim, threatening to kill her with a knife.

He then sprayed pepper, salt, and super glue on her vagina, using a knife to push it inside.

In a shocking act of cruelty, the husband sealed the victim's ears and mouth with superglue and sand, leaving her at the scene before escaping.

The police are currently working to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.
