Kenyan celebrities have long been spotted carrying cameras during charity events, leaving many to wonder why they do so. The answer, according to gospel artiste Wahu Kagwi, lies in the desire to thank partners and motivate others to help.

During a recent donation to ex-inmates of Langata women's prison under the Clean Start umbrella, Wahu Kagwi splashed photos of the event on social media. One fan, Aisha Elias, questioned the purpose of the cameras, asking, 'What are cameras for???? Mkipeana vitu za maana mnaweza tumia camera.'

Wahu Kagwi quickly responded, explaining that cameras are for appreciating partners who support an initiative. She also noted that this practice motivates organizations and individuals to extend a helping hand to those in need.

Wahu Kagwi's comments come as a revelation to many, who may have assumed that celebrities only share their charity work to garner attention. However, the artiste clarified that there is often more to the story, and that not all acts of charity are publicly disclosed.

Wahu Kagwi's team was seen giving back at Lang'ata women's prison, as seen in the photos below.
