Health workers in Kenya suspended their strike on May 17, 2020, after successful talks with the government.
The strike, which began on May 1, 2020, was called off following negotiations between the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and the government.
According to reports, the government agreed to meet the union's demands, including a 300% salary increase for doctors and a 180% increase for other medical staff.
The strike had caused disruptions in healthcare services across the country, with many patients forced to seek treatment elsewhere.
However, with the strike suspended, healthcare services are expected to return to normal.
