On May 17, 2020, Wahu Kagwi, a Kenyan musician and philanthropist, shared her thoughts on why celebrities post photos when helping the needy.
According to Wahu, taking photos during such events is not just about seeking likes on social media, but also about appreciating the partners and sponsors who support the initiative.
She explained that cameras are used to acknowledge the contributions of these supporters, as well as to encourage other corporates and individuals to get involved.
Wahu's comments came in response to a follower who questioned the need for taking photos during the event. The follower, Aisha, suggested that cameras could be used for more meaningful purposes.
Wahu's response was clear: 'cameras are for appreciating partners who support an initiative, and also to encourage others corporates and individuals to do what they can. Don't be so negative. You only see what I let you see. There's a lot which you don't know because it doesn't need to be known.'
