Kenyan Music Groups That Have Broken Up

Kenya's music scene has seen its fair share of talented groups breaking up over the years. From P-Square to Blu 3, here are some of the most celebrated groups that have parted ways.

One of the most recent groups to break up is P-Square, a Nigerian duo that has been a household name in Kenya for years. The twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, have been beefing for over a year before Peter filed a termination letter.

Another group that has broken up is Blu 3, a Ugandan girl band that was one of the most celebrated groups in East Africa in the early 2000s. The group's lead singer, Jacky Chandiru, has been battling drug addiction and has been reported to be in a rehabilitation center.

Kenya's own music scene has also seen its fair share of group break-ups. One of the most notable groups to break up is P-Unit, a group that consisted of Bon-eye, Frasha, and Gabu. The group has since disbanded, with each member going solo.

Other groups that have broken up include Ya Moto Band, a Tanzanian boyband that split up early this year over irreconcilable differences; Necessary Noize, a Kenyan group that consisted of Bamzigi, Nazizi, and Wyre; and BMF, a gospel group that split up and has since seen some of its members settle down or go abroad in search of greener pastures.

These are just a few examples of the many talented groups that have broken up over the years. It's a sad reminder that even the most celebrated groups can fall apart, but it's also a testament to the talent and creativity of the individuals who make up these groups.
