Sierra Leone's music scene is gaining international recognition, thanks in part to Muzay Man, a talented artist from Freetown. Born in 2007, Muzay Man, alias Musah Conteh, officially began his music career with the release of his debut single, Me Life, in 2007.
With a genre that resonates with fans across the continent, Muzay Man has collaborated with notable acts, including Kao Denero. His musical influences are evident in his style, drawing inspiration from artists like Sean Paul and Beenie Man.
Locally, Muzay Man has expressed admiration for Khaligraph Jones, a Kenyan artist he believes will help him penetrate the Kenyan market. He also aims to collaborate with Tanzanian star Abdul Naseeb Juma to increase his reach in the East African region.
Despite starting his career as a footballer, Muzay Man has become one of the most promising artists in the region, winning several accolades, including the prestigious AWOL music award.
