Manchester United and Liverpool are in a heated transfer tussle for Napoli's prized centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, a Senegalese football sensation.
According to reports, Liverpool are willing to offer Koulibaly a 'very good salary' and the prospect of Champions League football, which could be a major draw for the defender.
Manchester United, however, have reportedly shifted into high gear in their pursuit of Koulibaly, having contacted his representatives at the start of April.
Napoli, though, are in a strong position to retain their star player, given the uncertainty surrounding the financial implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on European football clubs.
As a result, the Serie A side are unwilling to lower their asking price for Koulibaly, which remains close to €100 million.
