On May 16, 2020, Pastor Robert Burale marked another year of life, and friends and family took to social media to wish him a happy birthday. Among those who sent him love messages was TV anchor Lillian Muli, who penned a heartfelt letter expressing her gratitude for his support.
"Where do I begin, my darling friend? There is so much I want to say to you," Muli wrote. "Thank you for never giving up on me. You always know when something is wrong with me and even on my moody days when you call and I don't pick up, you never give up on me."
Muli went on to describe Burale as her secret keeper, someone who has known her deepest secrets for a long time. She also acknowledged the rumors that they would make a good couple, but clarified that her love for him is beyond what human beings can describe.
"You have prayed with and for me for the longest time. You know my deepest secrets. For the longest time, people said you and I would be good together, but my love for you is beyond what human beings could ever describe," Muli wrote.
She ended her message by wishing Burale the best and expressing her love for him like a brother. Burale responded with a heartfelt message of his own, thanking Muli for her kind words and reminding her of their pact.
"Thank you, my darling friend... always true... always here... always forever... Remember our pact... you are a blessing," Burale wrote.
On his birthday, Burale reflected on the journey he has taken, crediting God's grace for his success. "Grace, unmerited favour, that simply sums up the story of my life," he wrote. "Today, as I celebrate my birthday and the gift of another year, my heart is grateful to God for my journey."
