Deputy President William Ruto has broken his silence on social media to pay tribute to Tony Waswa, the younger brother to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, who passed away on Friday morning.
According to the family, Tony had been hospitalized at the Aga Khan Hospital with a short illness before his untimely death.
On his Facebook page, Ruto described Tony as a hardworking, humble, and warm person, who was selfless, dedicated, and prolific in his community work.
He also asked God to give the Wetang'ula family, relatives, and friends strength and courage to bear this immense loss.
Friday's condolence message marked Ruto's first public statement since the dramatic ouster of his allies Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika from the Senate leadership.
