On May 15, 2020, Kenya confirmed 23 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the national tally to 781. The cases were detected after testing 2,100 samples.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman, Nairobi was the epicenter of the new infections, with 11 cases reported. Mombasa County had five cases, with three cases detected in Kajiado and two cases each in Kiambu and Wajir.

Dr. Rashid Aman revealed that all three Kajiado cases were truck drivers, while the Kiambu case was detected in Thika. The two cases in Wajir County were found in Wajir East Sub-County.

“Kajiado has again today had two cases who are truck drivers from Namanga Border Point, and one from Ilbisil in Kajiado Central,” Dr. Rashid Aman said.

Disaggregating the cases, Dr. Rashid Aman noted that there were five females and 18 males, with ages ranging from 24 to 85 years.

“Consistent with the growing number of losses we are making, over the last 24 hours we have lost three patients. Each fatality is a tragedy,” Dr. Rashid Aman said.
