Kenya's COVID-19 Cases Rise to 781, 23 New Infections Reported

On May 15, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases reached 781 after 23 new infections were reported.

According to Dr. Rashid Aman, the Health Ministry's Chief Administrative Secretary, the 23 new cases include 5 females and 18 males, aged between 24 and 85 years old.

The new cases were spread across five counties, with Nairobi reporting 11 cases, Mombasa 5 cases, Kajiado 3 cases, and Kambu and Wajir each reporting 2 cases.

Of the 11 cases in Nairobi, 6 were reported in Embakassi, 2 in Kamkunji, 2 in Lang'ata, and 1 in Starehe.

Similarly, in Mombasa, the 5 cases were reported in Likoi (5), Mvita (4), Jomvu (2), and Nyali (1).

One case was reported in Loitoktok, Kajiado, while two cases were reported in Namanga, also in Kajiado.

Additionally, two cases were reported in Kibra and Eastleigh, Nairobi, and one case was reported in Turbo, Uasin Gishu.

The country also recorded two more deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 42.

Furthermore, the ministry announced that three more patients had recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 284.
