On May 15, 2020, the government of Kenya tightened restrictions on movement during nighttime hours, banning gatherings and travel between 10 PM and 4 AM.
Just a day later, on May 16, 2020, 33 individuals were arrested in Kirinyaga County for holding an unauthorized meeting, defying the new regulations.
The arrests were made by the authorities, who are now saying they will provide more information on the incident in the coming days.
