On May 15, 2020, Jubilee Senator Waqo Naomi Jillo faced the possibility of expulsion for snubbing the party's parliamentary group meeting at State House in Nairobi. However, in a statement on Friday, she pledged loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta, citing unavoidable circumstances for her absence.
According to Senator Jillo, she was unable to travel to Nairobi to attend the Party PG due to 'unavoidable circumstances that Jubilee party is aware of.' She disclosed that she was currently in Marsabit County assisting in the fight against Covid-19.
Senator Jillo urged all Kenyans to follow the directives given by the government in light of the recent political developments. She stated that her loyalty lies with President Uhuru Kenyatta and that she stands by and is guided by his decisions in all matters affecting the party and the nation.
Senator Jillo also congratulated and supported the new leaders in the Senate, including Sen Samuel Pogishio, Sen Fatuma Dullo, Sen Irungu Kangata, and Sen Farhiya Haji. She told off her political detractors for trying to drive a wedge between President Kenyatta and herself.
