On May 11, 2020, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju recommended five nominated senators, including Senator Naomi Jillo, to the party's disciplinary committee for expulsion.
Senator Jillo was among those who snubbed the party's parliamentary group meeting at State House in Nairobi early this week.
However, in a statement on Friday, Senator Jillo pledged loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying she skipped the meeting due to 'unavoidable circumstances'.
She claimed to be currently in Marsabit County assisting in the fight against Covid-19 and urged all Kenyans to follow government directives.
Senator Jillo also stated that she stands by and is guided by President Kenyatta's decisions in all matters affecting the party and the nation.
She congratulated and supported the new leaders in the Senate, including Sen. Samuel Pogishio, Sen. Fatuma Dullo, Sen. Irungu Kang'ata, and Sen. Farhiya Haji.
Senator Jillo's loyalty pledge comes after her colleague, Christine Zawadi, was earlier spared after writing an apology letter to Senate Majority Chief Whip Irungu Kang'ata.
