Virtual Lessons: A Reality Check for Parents ¶
As a teacher, I've witnessed a growing trend of parents complaining about virtual lessons. But what they fail to realize is that the challenges they face are not unique to teachers.
Many parents are struggling to adapt to the new reality of online learning, but they're not alone. Teachers are also facing unprecedented challenges, from developing innovative lesson plans to managing their own mental health.
One of the main concerns parents have is the cost of internet connectivity. However, this is a basic necessity for households with children attending international curriculum schools. It's not a valid excuse for not investing in their child's education.
Another issue parents raise is supervision. While it's true that younger students may require more guidance, older students are capable of managing their own time and workload. The real issue lies with parents who are not taking an active role in their child's education.
Teachers are not just educators; they're also mentors, counselors, and caregivers. They're working tirelessly to ensure their students receive a quality education, despite the challenges they face.
It's time for parents to recognize the sacrifices teachers make every day. From developing lesson plans to managing their own mental health, teachers are going above and beyond to ensure their students succeed.
So, the next time you complain about virtual lessons, remember that teachers are not just doing their job; they're also making sacrifices to ensure your child receives a quality education.
