Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited has announced the appointment of Peter Gitau as Executive Director, effective April 30, 2020.
Gitau, who has been with the bank for 17 years, has extensive local and international expertise in operations, technology, and risk management.
Before joining the board, Gitau held various senior positions within the bank, including Chief Information Officer in Kenya, Africa Regional Head of Audit, and Group Head of Controls for Wholesale Bank Technology and Operations in Singapore.
He is a certified accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi. Gitau has also previously worked in the assurance services practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Gitau joins a team of experienced directors at Standard Chartered Bank Kenya, including Patrick Obath (Chairperson to the Board), Kariuki Ngari (CEO), and other non-executive and independent directors.
