Published on May 15, 2020, Geoffrey Kamworor, a renowned Kenyan athlete, is gearing up for a stronger comeback after the coronavirus pandemic forced the suspension of competitions.

As a three-time World Half Marathon Championships title holder, Kamworor has been training alone at home, utilizing a treadmill to maintain his fitness level.

"I have been training alone at home after I bought a treadmill to help me in training. I thought the government might not allow anybody outside his house and I had to plan well," Kamworor said during the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) online forum.

Originally scheduled to defend his World Half Marathon Championships title in March in Gdynia, Poland, the event was postponed to October 17.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Kamworor remains optimistic about his chances of success, citing his training with world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge in Kaptagat, Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
