Published on May 15, 2020, Billy Black, a 26-year-old sound engineer from Migori, has been pursuing a career in music after completing his degree in sound engineering at the School of Audio Engineering in Cape Town.

For Billy, sound is everything, and he has been paying attention to music since he was in the womb. His academic knowledge in sound and music has enabled him to record and mix his own music, as well as for other artists.

When it comes to his musical influences, Billy draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Adele, Hillsong gospel choir, and Alicia Keys. He believes that his unique sound would resonate with the audiences of these artists, and he hopes to create music that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

Despite facing geographical and cultural differences as a student and musician in South Africa, Billy found that music was a powerful tool that could bridge gaps and bring people together. He even signed a non-exclusive publishing deal for his music while in Cape Town, and he would not mind relocating to South Africa again.

When it comes to his personal taste in music, Billy's playlist is quite mellow, and he rarely listens to music that makes him want to dance. However, he does enjoy dancing at weddings, and he would be happy to attend one if invited.
