On May 13, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta made several key appointments to various boards in Kenya. One of the notable appointments was that of Prof Mabel Imbuga, the former Vice-Chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, as the chairperson of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) board.

Prof Imbuga's appointment was announced in a gazette notice, which also revealed the appointment of former Budget Controller Agnes Odhiambo as the chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) board for a three-year term. She takes over from acting chair Alice Chesire.

Retired Supreme Court judge Prof Jackton Ojwang was also appointed as the chair of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) board.

These appointments were made in a bid to strengthen the leadership of these key boards and ensure effective governance in their respective sectors.
