On May 15, 2020, DIB Bank Kenya Limited made a significant contribution to the community by donating KES 500,000 worth of food to three religious organizations in Nairobi and Mombasa.
The donations, which included packages of dry foods such as sugar, rice, and wheat flour, were made to the Jamia Mosque leadership in Nairobi and the Wakf Commissioners of Kenya in Mombasa.
The food packages, which will feed up to 300 families, are a testament to DIB Bank Kenya's commitment to supporting the community, particularly during the holy month of Ramadhan.
"At DIB, the well-being of people is an important value we hold, and we aim to play our role in support of the community," said DIB Bank Kenya CEO, Peter Makau during the handover at Jamia Mosque in Nairobi.
This is the second year that DIB Bank Kenya Limited has partnered with the Muslim community to cushion the vulnerable during Ramadhan.
"This is a particularly difficult Ramadhan as many families are vulnerable especially with the effects that COVID-19 has had on all of us," said Sheikh Juma Amir, Deputy Imam and Director of Jamia Information Centre at Jamia Mosque.
