Italian striker Mario Balotelli's Brescia side are currently at the bottom of Serie A, a league that has been suspended since 9 March.

With most teams having 12 games left to play, the league has approved 13 June as the potential resumption date, pending government approval.

According to Coni president Giovanni Malago, the chances of the season finishing as scheduled are slim, saying, 'To talk about the chances of it finishing, you would need a crystal ball.'

However, Malago remains optimistic about the league's chances of restarting, stating, 'It's a real risk, but Serie A's primary and only objective is to restart.'

As of now, Juventus are leading the league, a point ahead of Lazio, with their ninth consecutive Serie A title within reach.

Malago also expressed hope that the government might reconsider its stance on a whole squad having to go into a 14-day isolation if a player tests positive for coronavirus, saying, 'I do not know the reason for the [health ministry] decision but I am told it is one that could be reviewed.'
