On May 14, 2020, detectives in Nairobi launched an operation in Juja town that led to the arrest of three suspects, including a software developer at a local bank, over their alleged involvement in an electronic fraud syndicate.
The suspects, who also include two university students, were apprehended at a residential area in Juja town.
During the operation, police recovered over 400 SIM cards, 8 National Identity Cards, two laptops, and four mobile phones.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has stated that the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
According to the DCI, the trio will be charged accordingly once further investigations are completed.
