On December 6, 2016, a tragic event unfolded in Ingobor, Kapkures location, Nakuru County, Kenya. Rose Awori, a woman, was brutally murdered by Denis Kipkoech, who had proposed to her but was rejected. Justice Janet Mulwa presided over the case and delivered a guilty verdict against Kipkoech.

Although no witnesses directly saw the accused chopping off the woman's head, three witnesses placed him at the scene of the crime. The prosecution presented a strong case, with evidence linking Kipkoech to the murder. The murder weapon, a machete, was found beside the deceased's body inside the accused's house, and his hands were soaked in blood.

During the trial, Hillary Mutua testified that he knew the accused and had visited his house on the fateful day. He found Kipkoech seated at the cattle yard, drunk and with his hands soaked in blood. Mutua led the court through the events of that day, including finding the deceased's head decapitated.

Dr. Titus Ngulungu, a pathologist, testified that the woman's head was completely decapitated by a sharp object, severing all neck veins and nerves. The court found Kipkoech guilty of the murder, and he was arraigned on February 6, 2017, where he denied the charge.
