As the world grappled with the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Africa saw an opportunity to transform itself. The pandemic, which had brought the global economy to its knees, had a profound impact on the continent.

With international borders closed and global supply chains disrupted, African countries were forced to look inwards and develop their own manufacturing capabilities. This marked a significant shift from the continent's previous reliance on imported goods.

As the pandemic raged on, African leaders learned a valuable lesson: that international cooperation was not always a guarantee of success, and that true self-sufficiency was the key to survival.

Today, Africa is a hub of innovation and manufacturing, with 'Made in Africa' products flooding the global market. The continent's education system has also undergone a revolution, with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.

As Wale Akinyemi, chief transformation officer at PowerTalks, noted, 'If we miss this opportunity, we will be dependants forever.'
