Published on May 14, 2020, flaxseeds have been touted as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments.

These small golden-brown seeds are rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, making them an excellent addition to a healthy diet.

Flaxseeds can be easily incorporated into your daily routine by mixing them with water or adding them to foods such as cereals, yoghurt, salads, and baked goods.

They are commonly used to alleviate digestive issues, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcers, and gastritis, and can also help relieve constipation when consumed with plenty of water.

Flaxseeds have been shown to lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes, as well as fighting against various cancers.

It is recommended to consume ground flaxseed, as whole flax may pass through the system undigested. Grinding whole flaxseed in a mortar or pestle, blender, or salt or pepper grinder is a simple way to make it more digestible.

The recommended daily dose is two teaspoons.
