On May 12, 2020, Britam Holdings Plc announced the appointment of Mr Mohamed Said Karama as the Board's Deputy Chairman, in accordance with Articles 116 of the company's Articles of Association.

Mr Mohamed Said Karama brings extensive experience to the role, having served as an independent non-executive director to the firm's board since April 25, 2017. He has also previously served as a member of the Investments and Strategy committee and Audit committee at Britam.

Mr Karama holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Financial Manager.

Britam Holdings Plc is a diversified financial services group listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. The group offers a wide range of financial products and services in insurance, asset management, property, and banking, with a presence in seven African countries.

Notably, in 2019, Britam made a profit of KSh3.5 Billion from a loss of KSh2.2 Billion in 2018, with shareholder funds increasing to KSh29.3 billion from KSh23.9 billion recorded the previous financial year.
