On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli narrowly escaped serious injury after being hit in a scuffle with knife-carrying burglars who broke into his London home.

According to a police spokesperson, two men broke into Alli's residence in Barnet around midnight and stole items of jewelry, including watches, before fleeing the scene.

One of the occupants, a man in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted by the burglars but did not require hospital treatment.

Dele Alli, 24, has been in isolation at his house with his brother, their partners, and a close friend ahead of Tottenham resuming training.

Despite the ordeal, Alli is expected to start training with Spurs next week ahead of the Premier League's intended resumption next month.
