As the world mourns the loss of Beloved John, the husband of Ruth Matete, a Nigerian Embassy in Kenya has been accused of blocking the widow's efforts to bury her late husband.

According to Ruth's lawyer, Robert Odanga, the embassy has refused to release John's body for burial, despite the family's request and a letter from the Nigerian Embassy allowing Ruth the rights to bury her husband.

‘Even after conducting the autopsy with four independent pathologists present, the embassy has curtailed our effort to remove John’s body for burial. The family in Nigeria have even written to them (the Nigerian embassy), requesting the body to be released, but they have refused to release it,’

Odanga said, adding that the embassy was informed to present a pathologist but opted not to.

‘We shall strongly communicate to the Nigerian embassy and strongly oppose the decision to hold the body at KNH. It is therefore extremely unfair to withhold the body as my client needs to peacefully rest and mourn’

Odanga said, emphasizing the need for the embassy to release John's body for burial.
